Lutino & Albino Breeders Society

About the Society

The Lutino and Albino Breeders Society (LABS) was founded in 1982 in the UK by a group of dedicated fanciers to promote and publicise Lutino and Albino Budgerigars. The Society offers Patronage by means of Rosettes and Trophies, and issues publications with information about breeding and breeders. The Society provides information and liaises with governing and any other interested bodies concerning the standard for exhibition of Lutino and Albino budgerigars  which is based upon specialist knowledge and experience. The Budgerigar Society colour standard for the Lutino and Albino differs slightly from the standard of the normal varieties in that more points are awarded for colour instead of mask and spots.

The Society publishes a REDEYE REVIEW and  TWO NEWSLETTERS and INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE PATRONAGE is available, subject to prior discussion. Paid-up members are ENTITLED TO NOMINATE LABS ON ENTRIES FOR OPEN SHOWS and receive the trophies and rosettes available to winning members. The Society also runs a points award competition with  points being awarded during the show season to L.A.B.S. members who win best young bird in each section at L.A.B.S. patronage shows.
